There is far too much math hate going around. A lot of the dislike for math comes from the way it's been taught; the same is true for other subjects. Only for math is it acceptable to say "I hate math" without also saying "it could have also been the way I was taught". The moment I say "I didn't like history in high school" (or the equivalent), people say things like "you just didn't have a good teacher" or "it's different in college". There are no widespread memes that say "I would have done [x subject that involves a lot of writing] if it weren't for the writing", but there popular memes that say things like "I was excited for [x subject that involves a lot of math], but then math blocked me from pursuing my dreams".

+1. I didn't like math until I had a wonderful teacher in fifth grade, and my love for math was then destroyed in college by a horrible professor. It's really frustrating to hear / see math being degraded as "the worst subject" or similar.
